Week 13-14

Since the spring semester ended, I have had a nice and easy time spent in a relaxed atmosphere. I can finally work full time on my research for the next couple of weeks. I also went for coffee with my colleagues a couple of times, which made me very happy. I now have people to talk with about various topics!

One of my New Year’s resolutions, application for research funding, has been done. I sent my up-to-date CV, thesis titles, a description of the content and my future plans essay. Stating your future plans is often required in an academic environment (if in the business environment, the division’s future plans are required). It always bothers me because a future vision tends to be vague, and many factors can change the direction of life.

I also started making initial contact with some potential locations that I will investigate over the next two years. I am now at the next stage where I need to decide on the specific locations and methods to go through the ethics applications, which is going to be the first hurdle of my project.
